I hope by now you have heard that Bishop Jugis has declared 2020 the “Year of St. Joseph” for the Diocese of Charlotte. This joyous celebration commemorates the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being solemnly declared Patron of the Catholic Church by Pope Pius IX in his decree Quemadmodum Deus. Throughout 2020, our Diocese will honor St. Joseph with heartfelt prayer and devotion. Kick-off for the Year of St. Joseph is tomorrow at the Cathedral of St. Patrick at 9:00am, when Bishop Jugis will offer Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and officially announce 2020 as the "Year of St. Joseph.
