Deltas Prepare Dinner Deliziosa

Sunday was Delta Day at the seminary, which meant that it was the Delta class’s turn to prepare and serve a meal for the rest of the house. The Deltas decided on a menu featuring American Italian cuisine. With the assistance, instruction, and family recipes of Fr. Kauth and his mother Sharon, they made homemade pasta, calzones, meatballs, and Caesar salad. According to Fr. Kauth, “It was a huge amount of work and a colossal mess. But it was fun, and it was tasty!” The Deltas had some added pressure as they had a special guest: Abbot Placid Solari, Chancellor of Belmont Abbey College. Both the Abbot and Fr. Rossi (Pastor of St Michael’s in Gastonia) were present for Solemn Vespers and the dinner. These added culinary judges gave the Deltas a “placet” (it pleased them). One more delectable hurdle crossed by our newest class.
